Default RC1 Upgrade issues

I am trying to ugrade from XP Media Center to RC1. I get through the part
where you input the product key and when it gets to the install portion it
shows 0% and then says that the install cannot continue and then it closes.
Can anybody help me with this issue? I would really like to try Vista but I
am fed up with this install. Here are some specs on the laptop.

Toshiba Satellite A105-S4004
Intel Centrino Duo 1.66 GHz
1GB RAM
XP Media Center Edition 2002 SP2

Hi,

This usually occurs because of a bad disk burn or if the installer cannot
write to the boot sector. If possible, try reburning the disk at a slower
speed. Also make sure that the active drive is not hidden from setup by a
third party boot manager.

what program did you use to burn the iso file? I have tried burning the disk
multiple times with no change in outcome. also I have noticed that my dvd
writer will not allow me to write at anything lower than 4x. is that too
fast? thank you.

Hi,

I used Nero for most builds, and set it for 2x. I had a lot of issues with
disks burned at 4x.
