Default Vista RC2 and HP P1000 PhotoSmart shared printer

I'm running RC2 on my laptop, and try to print to a shared printer on my XP
desktop on a home network. NOTHING happens when I try to print. Not even a
Test Page gets a response, yet it prints fine to an 'older' HP 682C Deskjet,
being shared on a different XP desktop, on the same home network...duh.

Any ideas ??

Default Re: Vista RC2 and HP P1000 PhotoSmart shared printer

I found out by trial and error that I can use the Vista driver for the HP
892c or 920c to drive my HP Photosmart P1000 connected directly to my Vista
desktop. Both drivers provide basic functionality only, but don't seem to
cause any problems.

So maybe you should install a remote printer and pretend it's an 892c or
920c?

Hope this helps.

Brian
