Default Installation failed

Hi,

I had Fedora installed on my test PC and starting the installation of
Windows Vista I got an error message, could not install Windows Vista.
Sorry, I forgot to write down the error number...

Regards,
Michael

Oh, I tried to install Vista after I removed the Fedora installation (by
installing Windows XP). Now, I get the same error message:

Windows Setup: setup.exe - Application Error

The exception unknown software exception (0xe0000100)
occurred in the application at location 0x77e4028b.

I can click on <OK> and <Cancel>. Both will come back to the "Install
Windows - Install now" dialog.

Regards,
Michael

Try reburning the download image again - sounds like what happens when it
doesn't get burnt properly.

Try reburning the ISO at a low speed, 2x and reattempt the installation.

Ok, I will try to do this... maybe this will help, because it is an older
DVD device.

Default Re: Installation failed

I'm receiving the very same error. It's after the initial Setup dialog and
before the product key is asked.
However, I'm doing the install on a Virtual PC 2004 SP1 (5.3. 582.27).

If I load the very same CD to a physical computer, it easily passes on to
the Product Key. CD is not to blame here.

That's rather bad. I hope MS has a Virtual PC add-on anytime soon, or at
least by the time of shipment.

Vista is so advanced, it's not supported (officially) to have Vista run
inside it. We will see Virtual PC Express of which will be on Vista so you
can put another OS on it whilst you're logged in.
