Default RC2

I have just downloaded Vista RC2 and would like to install it on my system.
Two questions:
1) I have read here that a clean install is a better way to go. Can anyone
verify that from personal experience?
2) Neither Roxio nor Nero will install on my Vista RC1 system and so I'm a
bit stuck on how to burn the RC2 ISO file to DVD without any disc-burning
software on board. Any help would be much appreciated.
