Default STOP 0x0000001A with the new RC1 of today

Hi!

I've just downloaded RC1.
I checked the CRC : MD5 ans SHA1
I burned the ISO file at 2.4X

During the step "Expandind files", I get STOP 0x0000001A around 20%.
It is concerning memory management.
It is a clean install.

I did not have this problem with Vista Build 5384.
I do not have any problem with Windows XP.

I would be so happy to install RC1 with success.

Any suggestion?

Merci beaucoup! Roger

Have you tried burning the ISO again, at a lower speed? If that does not
work, try extracting the contents of the ISO image to a folder locally and
launch setup from within Windows XP?

The 20% to 27% of expansion of files is the first restart. Disconnect all
the devices you don't need, especially usb. Did you remember to provide any
needed HDD controller drivers with the Load Drivers button?

Hi,

Reburn at a slower speed. I ran into this as well, even though earlier burns
at 4x worked fine. With RC1, had to back it down to 2x.

Hi Andre!

It burned the ISO file a second time and, again, at the lowest speed (2x).
I still get STOP 0x0000001A during the step "Expanding files".
By the way, to burn, I use Roxio Creator 8 Suite Home Version: 3.0.0 Build:
3.0.91a.

I'm running Vista Build 5384 since July.
So, today, I decided to do a re-installation of Build 5384 (Clean install).
And, the installation of Build 5384 worked well.
To do that, I must say I used the DVD I bought form Microsoft.

So, my conclusion is that I cannot burn correctly the ISO file of RC1.

My last alternative is to wait for the DVD of RC1 I will buy from Microsoft.

I would have been so happy to successfully install RC1 today.

Merci encore! Roger

Maybe you could try extracting the contents of the ISO to a folder in XP
then launch Setup from there. Or use Virtual Image software such as Daemon
Tools mount the ISO image.
