Default blank emails

Every once in a while I get blank emails through in windows mail. Perhaps
several times a week.
It has no text in the from or subject line. The headers are totally blank.
The only indication that an email is there is the envelope icon indicating
an email in the list.
Has anyone else had this? Is there a known cause?

I get them from time to time also. I presume
they are some sort of SPAM even though they are
blank, as you say.

I guess it would be interesting just how they
are generated.

I've been getting these for at least 8 months. Nothing to do with Vista.
I don't know how they are done but they are an annoyance. They can't be
junk filtered in Thunderbird because there is nothing to filter them
against. Fortunately I don't get more than 3 or 4 a day and they are
easy enough to delete.

Vista is not the only system they occur on. I
also get them in Linux, GMail, and Yahoo Mail.

Can you tell me what date it was discussed please? Wondering how far back I
need to download messages.

As I said before, I have gotten them in Windows,
Linux, GMail, & Yahoo Mail. I just deleted one
this morning in either GMail or Yahoo Mail - I
forget which right now. They are not specific
to Vista! Just because you never got one before
doesn't mean they didn't exist.

I never said they don't exist, just making a statement that I had never had
them before :-)
