Default Installation stalls

I am installing Vista on a clean hard drive. The install seems to go fine
until the reboot when it stalls on the initial splash screen. I have waited
as long as 10 minutes but it never changes. Do I just need to wait longer.
Do I need to install drivers when I format the HD. I tried that but I
couldn't get the installation program to recognize my driver restore disk
that came with my computer. How can I get the drivers I need? I am trying to
intall Vista on a Sony VAIO PVC-RX450 desktop with 512MB of RAM and a 1GB AMD
processor.

Default Re: Installation stalls

Hard disk controller drivers (if not in firmware) should also be available
on the manufacturer's website. You probably only need to point the Load
Drivers function to the folder containing driver, not the driver itself.
Copy the driver package to a thumb drive and pointing Load Drivers to it
might also work.
