What am I suppose to do with that answer? Does this mean it's complicated?

He meant NO, but did not want some programmer who had written a shell to
block that out to jump in and say he was wrong. Why do you want it removed? aesthetics? just wondering...I happened to put a picture on that has white in the area, so it does not show up well "Joachim (Joe)" <newsgroups@joenetwork.de> wrote in message news:eYTT9$wlGHA.3812@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > What am I suppose to do with that answer? Joe, I'm saying I think it's pretty hard to override it.

Maybe I'm a little too picky. It just does not fit with the background, yup:
aesthetics. The response to this question in one of the Vista shell user chats was 'no.'

I seem to remember back in the Windows XP days there was a registry key for
it. But it wouldn't surprise me if it was coded in a bit harder this time around. -- Paul Smith, Yeovil, UK. Yes there is a registry key that toggles the version info on XP. An easy
way to access it is through a program like Fresh UI from Fresh Devices. There are many others.
