Hey Everyone,
I have tried to install Windows Vista Beta 2, but im having problems. Firstly, I will state that I am a Computer Network Engineer, so I know quite a bit about computers. Anyway, I downloaded the 32bit Vista Beta 2 ISO from Microsoft, and then burnt the image to a DVD. The image burnt correctly, and putting the DVD in during Windows does load up the installation screen. However, when I try to boot from the DVD, it comes up with the error "No physical memory is available at the location required for the windows boot manager. The system can not continue", and it then halts. I want to install Vista on to a new Hard Drive, so I do not want to do an upgrade inside windows. However, I have tried installing Windows XP on to my new hard drive, and then tried an upgrade, and after it restarts it tries to boot off the hard drive and the same error ocurrs. I am running a Notebook, with a Pentium M-2.0Ghz CPU, and 1GB of DDR RAM (2x512MB SIMMS), and a 40GB Hard Drive. The notebook is actually a Clevo M375C Barebone notebook that I customised myself. I have never seen an error like this before, and Google does not find anything when searching for that complete phrase, and neither does any of Microsoft's searches. Any ideas? Cheers, Chris |

On booting from DVD, install process failed this failer post: " No physical memory is available at the location required for the boot manager the system can not continue " Why??? Please help me! Maybe Vista is not ready for this configuration? Or I make wrong intsallation methode? Sorry my poor english. Akos...
I'm not sure about this particular error, as I haven't had the misfortune of having that one yet, and the answer I'm going to give is not Vista dependant, so if you've successfully installed any other OS, disregard this post, as the problem I'm discussing here would prevent you from installing ANYTHING... Are you sure you have built the system correctly and installed the RAM in the proper slots? When I built my first dual CPU (Not dual CORE, dual CPU) I didn't realize that each processor uses it's own RAM and so, one of the CPUs didn't have any RAM in the slots made for that CPU. I'm looking over the user guide for the Intel S5000PSL. It's not very helpful, which is normal for Intel motherboard user guides, but it does give decent instruction on how RAM has to be installed and which TYPES of RAM work in what configurations. It seems the problem I had with mine doesn't apply here. I'm not sure your problem is a HARDWARE problem, so I'll just tell you what I found looking at your hardware configuration. For the Intel S5000PSL, make sure that your RAM is in slots A1 & B1. If you install the RAM into any other slots (with having only 2 sticks of RAM) the system will not work, though it may SEEM to at the time. I doubt this is the problem, but I figured I'd throw it in the mix anyways... Raven!
My system is working fine with Windows Server 2003 RC2, Windows XP Professional 64 bit edition and Windows XP Professional! System is builded correctly! RAM-s is certified by Intel and pluged in A1 and B1 slots. All installed parts certified by Intel! I'm tested many installation methode. If i install Vista from anithing Windows installation running fine to first reboot! After reboot system is stopped with errors: "No physical memory is available at the location required for the boot manager the system can not continue" My work is "hardware builder" and I build many server, workstation aynd desktop systems. This error for me is new and do not meet with it! I do not understand this error! ![]() "Raven Mill" wrote: > Akos... > > I'm not sure about this particular error, as I haven't had the misfortune of > having that one yet, and the answer I'm going to give is not Vista > dependant, so if you've successfully installed any other OS, disregard this > post, as the problem I'm discussing here would prevent you from installing > ANYTHING... > > Are you sure you have built the system correctly and installed the RAM in > the proper slots? > > When I built my first dual CPU (Not dual CORE, dual CPU) I didn't realize > that each processor uses it's own RAM and so, one of the CPUs didn't have > any RAM in the slots made for that CPU. > > I'm looking over the user guide for the Intel S5000PSL.
