While using Vista I checked my video settings - it knew my monitor and
nvidia card and was surprised to see that 1024x768 was so far to the left on my scale - so I tried a higher resolution. My Viewsonic then displayed OUT OF RANGE in red letters on a black screen and that's it - yellow power LED. I thought after ~10 seconds of my not "accepting it" , it would go back as XP used to: apparently not. I waited but no change-.that's something that needs to be fixed. I did a "windows key" and 2 right arrows and a CR (to have it shutdown)and it restarted . |

This ABSOLUTELY should be fixed. It's not just been this way since XP, it's
been this way since Windows95 AT LEAST. Maybe earlier? I dunno. It makes choosing the highest display resolution possible a huge pain in the rump. I'm forced to RESTART into SAFE MODE, then roll back settings, then try again. This can't be the best solution. Any plans to correct this?
