I want a duplex printer, probably (6) color or more. Seems like Canon
and HP corner the market on duplex printers. The reviews I read of all the Canon photo printers say the text sucks. Fuzzy text it seems to say about all of them. Can I get a great photo printer that also does good text? I don't think any Epsons do duplex printing. Thanks |

Thanks The Canon 4XXX and 5XXX series printers will provide you with duplexing, good photo AND text printing. |

I checked Canon's site and they only have a iP4300. I never had a printer with a LCD viewer that lets you enhance images before printing and also accepts the media cards. I thought I might like these features. The iP4300 doesn't have that. |

That will make it easier for me to look now. I knew it couldn't compare with a monitor. |

Editing in a printer is a waste of time. At the very least you should use Picasa and that is free. Photoshop Elements is the next economical choice. Expensive but best is Photoshop. |

I was just curious why those features seemed so popular to put on the newer printers. My printer is way to old to have that stuff. |

It seems that's just another "feature" (useless as it may be) to use as an excuse to raise the price of the hardware. The major printer manufacturers can't help but see the handwriting on the wall...that is the general public is more and more turning to high quality after market inks once the original carts run out and they have "sticker shock" over the price of oem replacements. Every year more and more printer owners are changing to after market inks and for good reasons. Frank |

The place they are very useful is in zooming and cropping directly from camera memory cards. The LCD is generally on the order of 2". You may make better prints by loading the pictures into your PC, editing there and then printing but printing directly from the card slots is much faster and more convenient for quick prints. I have used photo printer both with and without the LCD screen and find the LCD screen much more user friendly to select, zoom and crop pictures. Regards, Bob Headrick, MS MVP Printing/Imaging |

I am going to get the Canon iP4300. It is the replacement for the iP5200 and has the same print head and specs. It might be slightly slower on speed but thats it according to the email I got from Canon Tech Support. |
