pc will not boot up because of worm

I am running windows XP. My pc will not boot up at all,
ive tried safe mode but it just hangs. I think it may be
because of a worm. I cannot install any patches because I
cant boot up my PC!

Mike;
Reboot tapping F8 each second.
At the menu choose "Last known good configuration"

If that fails, try a Repair Installation:

Windows Updates will need to be reinstalled.
Install Service Pack first and by itself.
Then install ALL Critical Updates no more than 4 at a time,

Disconnect the network/modem cable before starting repair and do not
reconnect until repair is completed and firewall is installed/enabled.

Im having the same problem. Did you ever find an answer.
Ive posted 3 times and nothing. My computer hangs on the
XP logo screen. I cant do anything
