Now that the beta period is over I figured the "Erase Tracks" option would be
put back in. Excitedly I downloaded the new Windows Defender, only to be let down. Is there any plans to put this back in? Was there a problem with it? I miss it so, nothing made my PC run so fast. |

Hello Joy,
The beta period is been out since Oct 23 2006. You can try IE 7 for some cleannigs tools. Or, try with CCleaner and or HDCleaner for a more thorough cleaning. Ccleaner - http://www.ccleaner.com http://www.ccleaner.com/downloadbuilds.asp There are 3 builds available. 1.Standard Build also includes the Yahoo Toolbar but that can be UNcheckmarked during the installation if you so desire. 2.Basic does NOT include the Toolbar 3.Slim also does NOT include the Toolbar and is English only. Note, When you install Ccleaner, uncheck the Yahoo toolbar option. Note, in Options, Advanced, uncheck - Only delete files in Windows folders older than 48 hours. Note: uncheck in Applications, the box for Utilities. Do a scan with all the check marks on. Open Ccleaner and press "Windows" "Aplications" and Run Cleaner from the menu choose 'Issues' and then press scan for issues, Repair any fÂșund. Run twice Ccleaner, the same as above, until you get â0 bytes to be removedâ. http://home.tiscali.de/zdata/hdcleaner_e.htm Read Review at MajorGeeks This is NOT a tool for newbies or the unskilled who don't know what they are doing. It is designed for technicians who have experience in malware hunting. http://safety.live.com/site/en-US/default.htm Look for the broom Clean up, also Tune Up.. For the benefit of the community reading this post, please rate the pÂșst. I hope this post is helpful. Let us know how it works Âșut.
