Can't validate to install latest Defender

Default Can't validate to install latest Defender


Tried to install latest Defender now the Beta has expired. Followed
instructions and received:

Validation Incomplete: Internet Connection Problem [0x80080293]. Why didn’t
my machine complete validation? Your validation may not have succeeded due to
the following Internet connection issue. The Windows Genuine Advantage Tool
requires Internet access and is unable to communicate with the Microsoft
validation servers.

But my installation is all up to date and Internet access is working
perfectly! Latest BT broadband, Norton security etc. all fine everywhere
else. Always has been. Never had an Internet connection problem before. Tried
dropping my firewall but it didn't help. No idea what to do next and can't
see any useful advise on MS validation incomplete page. I'd like to install
Defender but I can't. Can anyone tell me what to do next?

Which browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc.) are you using
to do the install?

Hi CBT:
The Defender ceased to exist as a standalone program and is now integrated
to WLOC version 1.5.1882.4 in the Virus and Spyware features. I have compiled
this instructions to solve the issue.

7.0. But its ok now. Just after I posted I tried again and for no reason I
could see it worked! Maybe MS servbers down for a while? Who knows. Anyhow,
