Default Missing desktop icons again

With reference to my posting of the 17th Dec about no desktop icons every 3
or 4th boot up after updating to the final version of W.D. I uninstalled W.D.
5 days ago and not had one problem with missing icons since. Any ideas as to
the problem as I really would like to have W.D. installed.
Thanks,
Toad.

Default RE: Missing desktop icons again

After installing WD did you check to see if the installation had turned off
the `show desktop icons`? Or is the option still check marked but the icons
do not show? I am assuming you are using XP. This MS support article explains
the theory behind missing icons and things to check although does not
directly address your issue. Hopefully you may find it useful.

Default RE: Missing desktop icons again

Hi Stu Thanks for the suggestion but icons are turned on, I have since
reinstalled W.D. and again I am loosing desktop icons every 4 or 5th bootup
so I think I will just have to do without it. Shame as I have been using it
since Beat1 without any problems at all.
