Ok, I've updated to Java 1.5.09 and uninstalled 1.4.xx
I've found a java 1.5.09 .msi file in : c:\documents and settings\time\local settings\application data\sun\java\jre1.5.0_9 My question is now that the install is done is this still needed. I did the install from the downloaded .exe My assumpition/hope is that this file was exctracted as part of the install process and is no longer needed. I have put it in my trash bin and everything is fine. But someone raised the question that this file might be needed for when I have to do an uninstall after the next update. Facts? opinons? Is this a remenant of the install process? Is this needed for the later uninstall? Do other people have this file in this location? I would think if it were needed for the uninstall process it would be located in a different location, e.g. \all users\application data ..., Program Files\Java... , Windows\...something. I thought most things in \user name\local settings\application data\ were for the individual user, not system wide programs? Thanks in advance, ?:-) Tim Geek w/o Portfolio |
