EDO Memory problem

Hey, brand new to the forum, how you guys doing? Anyways, I have
laptop, Dell 600C with Windows XP professional. When I start up th
laptop, it goes through the Dell loading screen, then says

"EDO Memory was detected in Socket 1, nearest the audio jacks.

Strike the F1 key to Shutdown."

Anybody have any idea what to do about this? Thanks in advance

I haVENT, because I have no warranty left anymore, so I figured tha
they would not help me anymore. It is a recurring problem, before i
would say this occasionally, but i could eventually get it to come on
but now it will not get past this

It's not something that is caused by, or can be corrrected by anything
in Windows. You can remove and replace the memory, or take it to a
computer shop.

Reseat your memory sticks and she will probably fly.

PDF Page 19 of the last link (the manual), shows the two pieces
of memory installed in their connectors. That is what you'd want
to reseat. Requires removing the memory cover plate, to get at it.
Disconnect AC and remove battery pack, before you go in there.
