Default Missing a File when donig a Sytem Recovery

Girl friend is doing a format on her Computer, and when she did the System
Recovery using the Compaq recovery Diisk. It Loads everything, and then when
she restarts, the Microsoft Loadind Window come's up. and then go's off, and
thats it, Blank, nothing. Then she restarted again and pressing F8, and then
it came up telling her she is missing this file:
\windows\system32\config\system Your help in this matter would help us out
greatly. Also. it ask's to put in the windows XP Home Edition Disk, well we
can't get one, they tell us at head office there that It's loaded onto your
Computer, do you see the Problem here?, LOL.
