I'd like to partition my blank 4gb USB drive into two partitions: one
partition sized 4mb and the other partition with the rest. How do I do this? |

Right click on My Computer, select Manage. On the following screen, click
on Disk Management. The drive should appear on the right hand side of the screen, from where you can partition it. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Technologies - Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "Huey" <HueyTheFreeman@gmail.com> wrote in message news:1172019228.627828.187550@k78g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... > I'd like to partition my blank 4gb USB drive into two partitions: one > partition sized 4mb and the other partition with the rest. Hmmm, that's interesting. Has it got files on it? If it's new, I'd RMA it
and ask for a replacement. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Technologies - Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "Huey" <HueyTheFreeman@gmail.com> wrote in message news:1172093131.128571.116910@j27g2000cwj.googlegroups.com... > On Feb 20, 11:34 pm, "Cari \(MS-MVP\)" <NewsGro...@coribright.com> > wrote: >> Right click on My Computer, select Manage. I have the same problem, but since there is no way to partition the USB
stick, is there a way to convert the partition fram FAT to FAT32, and then expand it? I have tried with Partition Magic, but this software does not read the USB stick at all. Is there any other software that will work? "Uwe Sieber" wrote: > No version of Windows supports multiple partition on > drives which pretend to have a removable media. Flash > drive usually do so. |

I would just copy all files a harddisk, wipe the first sector of the drive, reattach it and format it thru the Windows Explorer's context menu and finally copy all files back. Erasing can be done with my little ugly tool DiskErase: http://www.uwe-sieber.de/files/diskerase.zip Be careful when you select the drive... Uwe |
