Default Autodial issues again

Suddenly after installing some new software I've started getting forced
auto-dialups. That is, I only get a beep when I try to cancel the dialup.
These happen, for instance, when I do Start -> Help and Support. It may
have started with a "free" folder compare/sync program that insists on
dialing the internet when it starts.

In Network Connections ->-> Dialup Preferences I have checked Always ask
me before redialing. I do not have auto-update turned on.

Is there a way to stop this forced (uncancelable) dialing?

Default RE: Autodial issues again

Try this:

1. Click Start - Control Panel - Internet Options
2. Click Connections tab.
3. Select the option "Never dial a connection"

Hope this help, let us know!
