Various Probs with my P.C

Hi, I'm Having a few probs

When I turn on my p.c and log on my desktop icons take a while to appear.

Then the first error to appear is Resource dll error (1-287) Sony Application
I think its to do with the picture package VCD maker, but I cant find this
programme to uninstall it.

I can access the internet after logging on, but if I dont attempt to open
internet explorer until about 30 mins have passed, when I do, I cant connect
(just says internet explorer cannot display the web page) - Could this be to
do with my 1394 net adapter?
Through control panel in network connections I clicked on this and then
clicked repair this connection, but I got the message - TCP/ IP is not
enabled for this connection. cannot proceed. - Should it be enabled? If so
how do I do this?

Also, I cannot connect to the following:

Google earth - google earth servers. error code c000000c

Msn messenger - run time error 339, component msinet.ocx or one of its
dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

Blueyonder instant support tool - internet explorer script error, an error
has occured in the script on this page, object doesnt support this property
or method.

Advice/Help with any of the above would be very much appreciated.

Try add/remove programs,windows components,select the networking options
(2),chk the boxes & add,you'll find TCP/IP..Also,if you run msn
messenger,then
uncheck the box for windows messenger at the bottom of page in components..
Close when thru,also,youre boards hardware (internet hardware also),depends
on the MB chipset installation software utility,download from the mfg web
(intel,
AMD,etc).....

Unless I missed it, Have you verified the PC is clean?

I would go through Add/Remove programs and uninstall anything you know
you no longer need.

If you don't use 1394 you can disable that as well.
