Default Administrator Icon dissappeared

I have installed on computer winXp Pro.. after installing windows updates,
Icon for administrator dissappeared and cannot log on. I went to safe mode to
go back to last known confg, but no help. It take me the "guess" icon and ask
for a password. There shouldn't be a password, as I am the only person who
use the computer. How can I log on, or can I go to DOS and go back to the
restore point? If so how?
If I re-install window xp pro again will I lose by document and emails?

At the Welcome Screen, do Ctrl-Alt-Del twice. This will get you to the
classic logon box. Type in "Administrator" without the quotes and your
password. If you didn't set a password, leave it blank.

Once you get into the system, go to the User Accounts applet in Control
Panel and create another user account that has administrative privileges
for emergency purposes.

If you want the built-in Administrator account to appear on the Welcome
Screen:

Enable Administrator account on Welcome Screen -

If you just want to go directly to the Desktop, see:
