Default What is Dc1071?

I clean my computer regularly using CCleaner. During cleaning, I am
getting this error:

"Cannot remove folder Dc1071: It is being use by another person or program.
blah, blah."

I found that Dc1071 folder was located in C:\Recycle, which is a hidden
folder.
The Dc1071 subfolder is empty.

But I could not remove this folder. Please advise me how to remove this
inconvenient folder.

TIA. Craig

Hi Craig,
Well try to delete it in safe Mode with Ccleaner and see if you could remove
it.
Another it could be a virus through a script generated on your computer so
be sure this path not on your computer:
Open Windows explorer and click Tools >> Folder Options >> View and check
"View Hidden Files and Folders"
Hit F5 or refresh and locate this path:
C:\Recycled\DC1071.html or see the extension of that file in the recycle
bin.
Scan for malwares and viruses to be sure you computer is clean as Ccleaner
is a deletion tool more than AV or a scanner.
HTH.
Let us know.

nass

Thanks for your comment. Before trying Safe Mode, I am currently middle of
cleaning: Adaware, spybot and SpySweeper.
AVG is already running. Actually, Dc1071 is located as follows. I did
not mention "S-1-5-21-790525478-2049760794-682003330-1003\" folder because
it was too long.

C:\Recycler\S-1-5-21-790525478-2049760794-682003330-1003\Dc1071\ (this
folder is empty).

When I searched for "S-1-5-21-790525478-2049760794-682003330-1003\" in
registry, I see tons of registry. Some are related to Del..iciou.us, Yahoo,
and etc.

I am wondering if I could delete the whole registry related to
S-1-5-21-790525478-2049760794-682003330-1003.

Craig

Hi Craig,
No, Don't delete the whole Key just delete the Entries for that Folder there.
The mentioned Key is legitimate Key on your system.
HTH.

First off, close the Registry Editor. Do not delete any
registry keys.

Second, it's not a virus. What you've stumbled upon is how the
Recycle Bin keeps track of items you delete. Occasionally items
get stuck there.

If you haven't done so already, try emptying your Recycle Bin
to see if it will permanently remove that folder. If that
doesn't work, try the following.

Boot into Safe Mode.
Open a command prompt window, Start -> Run -> cmd.exe.
Enter the following command

RD C:\Recycler /s

Answer yes to the prompt.

Reboot your computer.
Windows will recreate your Recycle Bin.

Good luck
