Hi,
If Excel is still installed, save the documents (File> Save as) as txt/csv
or Text (Tab delimited.) Works DB should be able to open them.

If you don't have access to Excel, make a copy of the file and change the
extension from .xls to .csv. Try to open with Works DB.

You might be able to open the xls files with Internet Explorer and Save as
text or csv.

An Excel viewer from
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/d...0449811033.aspx may be able
to open the file and Save as text or csv.

Hope this helps,
Don

Hello,

To change an extension of a file, you need to enable "show extensions"

Start > My Computer > Tools (menu) > Folder Options > View (tab) > UNCHECK
"hide extensions for know file type"

Open Works........and start then open the Excel file from within
Works........it will convert automatically after a warning.
The main difference is the extension .xls vs .xlr
Excel will let save the files in either extension...
