How do you know what type of volume your pc has? FAT, FAT32 or NTFS???

Open My Computer and right click the drive you want to check.
Select Properties from the menu.
On the General page, look under "File System".

You can also find out this out by opening a command prompt
window, Start -> Run -> Cmd.exe, and entering chkdsk C: at the
command prompt. Substitute the correct drive letter for C: if
you have multiple partitions.

Right click and choose properties: Properties information will state
which file system is in use.

Disk Management, one of the Administrative Tools, also shows this
information.
