File conversion?

I did a Mcafee "quick clean" and now can't see any of my files. It keeps
asking me for "file conversion". What is going on, and how do I fix it? I
did system restore, installing adobe acrobat 8, reinstsalling all my
microsoft disks, and nothing is working.

And the tech support folks at McAfee have said what?
