Default Direct serial connection problem

Hello!
I have a problem I think is related to a missing component in my image but I
am not sure.
When I create an incoming connection (direct serial (com4)), host, on my
eXP machine I can not access it from a client computer.
When I look in the properties it says, dimmed, "No hardware capable of
accepting calls is installed". I dont use a modem, my comports(serial) works
fine when I do use a modem. Does anyone have an idea?
Regards
Patrik

Do you have "Communications cable between two computers" enabled in both the
XPe and client systems?

Hello Pat,

Make sure you have com port 4 installed as "Communications cable
betweeen two computers".

- Under Control Panel -> Phone and Modem Options -> Modem tab,
- Click Add and tick "Do not detect my modem..." checkbox, and click
Next,
- Select "Communications cable between two computers" and click Next.
The install should proceed from here.

Once you have installed the null modem, go to RAS manager (Incoming
Connections under Control Panel -> Network Connections). If you can't
see the RAS manager, create it by clicking "Create a new connection",
then click Next and Select "Set up an advanced connection", select
"Accepts Incoming Connections", then select the modem you just
installed.

On the client XP box, you have to create a dialup connection, similar
to a modem dialup connection.

Tell us how you go with this...
