Every cloning software (such as Ghost) will always create an exact copy of
the original system; that's the way they work.

The trick here is running SysPrep before cloning the machine. This tool
configures Windows so that, upon the next boot, it will regenerate all
unique information (SIDs) and go through the final part of the Windows
setup, where it usually asks for things such as the computer name, IP
address and serial number; many of these options can also be pre-configured,
so to have Windows ask the user (or the administrator) very little
informations, or none at all.

After running SysPrep and before restarting the computer, you can clone it;
this way, every copy will create its new SIDs and do its own setup when
started for the first time.

I hope it's a little clearer now :-)

There are ways you could use to copy an existing Windows installation to
another disk without third-party software, but using one makes the whole
process definitely simpler.
