RE: Movie Maker doesnt reconize my firewire connection

I had a similar problem. You have to get to the Play/Out Setup menu. Make
sure the Camera is not connected to the Computer. Edit Playback STD (1st
menu item). Change that to HDV and then change the DV Output menu item to
DV. See if that works for you.
