Default Thumbnails

After saving a movie, when played, the thumbnail in the List Pane of the
Media Player appears as a generic filmstrip. Sometimes the thumbnail appears
as the thumbnail of the Movie itself. Am I able to make the Movie thumbnail
appear on the List Pane consistently? Thanks for any advice.

What file types are you using? Do you find that one file type gives you the
movie clip and one gives you the generic film strip?

All of the movies that I have made have been captured from MovieMaker 2.1.
My default folder for saving is My Videos folder. When I play any movie clip
made from my original capture source it plays with the proper thumbnail while
I am in that folder. When I transfer it to any other folder for saving it
displays the generic thumbnail in the right plane. (This is not a major
problem--it just bugs me!) Thanks.

This is what worked for me: Type Advanced System Properties in the Start Menu
search box. Right-click on the file and choose Run as Administrator.
Click on the "Settings..." button, under "Performance". On the Visual
Effects tab, make sure that all choices are checked. ((Apply, OK) that
window, then (Apply, OK) the remaining window).

I have the same problem as Breadstick but cannot follow solution provided by
Heather. All items checked under visual effects. Thumbnails work for photos
but no longer for movies.

Hi Thornie, I can't remember how I did it! Why don't you post your question
to Heather directly. Hope it works out for you. Breadstick

Tried your solution Heather and it didn't work for me. Any other ideas?
