Default POWER SUPPLY


Another question....is there any difference between a micro ATX and regular
ATX power supply.....my board is factor micro ATX but I think the power
supply is full ATX.....suggestions?

Depending on the case, the size of the PSU might cause it to not fit.
You also need to be aware of the AC Plug and power Switch (if it has a
power switch on the PSU) so that your mounting plate doesn't cover one
or the other. As for connectors, just make sure you get one with the
same connectors - there are new ATX PSU's that have SATA power
connectors and fewer AT style connectors, so you can end up short of the
older AT style power connectors if you don't pay attention.

No such thing.

"micro" is referring to the formfactor of the motherboard. It takes up less
acreage than a plain jane ATX.

The "standard" ATX power supply connector should still fix. There are
only two different types of ATx power connectors:

The old 20 pin -- ATX 2.0 (????) standard
The new 24 pin -- ATX 2.05 (???) -- used for newer motherbaord and may
already come with PCI-e and SATA power connectors.

The 24 pin version still has the 20 pin connector, wired the same. The
other 4 pins are on a separate connector, provides additional +12V.
