I hope you can advise me on a problem. I write CDs using MS Explorer. As
you know it involves a two step process 1. Copy and Paste files from Source to CD Drive 2. Right Click on CD Drive and select "Write These Files" I can no longer write CDs because the CD Drive has a recursive Directory tree that is 'ready to be written' This recursive directory can not be deleted. I can not delete it using rightclick delete nor using the program invoked when rightclick 'Write these files' is selected. I get the message: "Can Not delete DIR_NAME: Access is denied" I have dismounted and rebooted without the CD drive and then remounted the CD drive all to no avail. I have search the registry for the name of the recursive directory. I have XP SP2 on ASUS w3000 laptop many thanks for your time. mark |

When I log on as another person with Admin rights, I am able to use the CD normally, i.e., the directories (ready to write) are gone. When I log back on as myself - I too have Admin rights - the temp directories are still there. I sounds like I will need to delete myself as a user. Do you agree , or is there some better solution? |

Only delete the problem directories in the problem profile, WHILE logged in as ANOTHER administrative user. |

Article ID : 132650 Last Review : November 15, 2006 Revision : 1.2 This article was previously published under Q132650 When I renamed the two top directories to SF instead of SharpesFortress. I was then able to delete dirs. Go figure. Many thanks , Mark |
