If they are connected via USB, it sounds like your USB ports are going to
sleep to save power. Disable that feature in Device Manager. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Technologies - Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "amjones" <amjones@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:54515BA3-D5F0-4BD7-8E8F-4C2CE954ED8C@microsoft.com... > After I reboot I can print fine. I'm not using the USB port, I'm using the parallel port.

And does this problem stop if you use the USB port?

To use the USB connection on the printer, you have to install the printer
software first, then connect the printer to the USB port when the software tells you to do so. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Technologies - Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "amjones" <amjones@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news B820F0A-8C97-4634-817C-6E1031B3817A@microsoft.com...>I tried using the USB port of the printer and couldn't get it to work, but > I'm not sure if I did everything correctly. What do you have for the settings for the LPT port in Device Manager.
(sorry, I can't tell you what they should be, my notebook has no parallel port!) -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Technologies - Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "amjones" <amjones@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:8ED1774E-1346-40E3-A213-EFDC5369147F@microsoft.com... > So you don't have any more ideas on getting the parallel port working? > > "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote: > >> To use the USB connection on the printer, you have to install the printer >> software first, then connect the printer to the USB port when the >> software >> tells you to do so. > |

Can you be more specific about what you'd like to see? I brought up the
device manager and the LPT port; there are General/Driver/Details/Resources tabs. "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote: > What do you have for the settings for the LPT port in Device Manager. > (sorry, I can't tell you what they should be, my notebook has no parallel > port!) |
