I just ran the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor on my PC and one of the problem
areas it found was: Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 Before you upgrade to Windows Vista, uninstall this program. After upgrade, this program will be blocked from re-installing due to known compatibility issues. Please visit the vendor's website for possible solutions. So what do people that like to work on their sites locally do? |

That's going to affect a lot of FP users that rely on the FP Server
Extensions to work on their sites locally. Too bad MS couldn't make them compatible with Vista. Many (including myself) wish it would just be a clean break, but it seems to be moving slowly. All in all, it's a good idea for all Web designers to start designing FrontPage components out of Web sites. With that said, I sure would have liked to see HTTP publishing support in Vista. I'm not sure why WebDAV has not been beefed up. Disk based may be fine as long as you have no Server side script
- removal of the FP SE makes editing /testing server side scripted pages in a Site (except ASP.net in EW) virtually impossible -- _____________________________________________ SBR @ ENJOY (-: [ Microsoft MVP - FrontPage ] "Warning - Using the F1 Key will not break anything!" Since MS has dropped support for the FPSE, I don't think they're concerned
about compatibility. -- Tom Willett Microsoft MVP - FrontPage FrontPage Support: http://www.frontpagemvps.com/ ---------- "David Berry" <dberry@mvps.org> wrote in message news:%23prOnrBDHHA.3396@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > That's going to affect a lot of FP users that rely on the FP Server > Extensions to work on their sites locally.
