Default Webpage on server not opening in FP 2003

I have to change some pages every a.m. and again in the p.m. for my
boss. Am using FP 2003. When I open the url and then go file..edit in
front page.
If it is working ok..then I get the login pw and no problems
but lately...I get a page to open called index(1). It is like it is a
cache copy of the page. I have deleted temp files..have cleaned sites
from My Network...have rebooted numerous times...same problem. Today,
it took all that and 5 reboots before it would show login password. I
even changed User Authorization in IE7 to prompt.

I feel sure there is something that I am just doing wrong. Sure hope
someone has the answer.

To open in FP 2003, try going to Open and then writing i the file field
this: [address of page]
Then, you can't make it not be a cache copy, It's predefined by the program.

I say they're Flash controls, joint with Java applets, but this buttons
don't work in Google page indexing, or other search engines. You can't crawl
pages for sitemaps with these.

Try AspHost4Free. They have DB/MDB/Access Support, ASP support and FP
Extensions :-)

Open the web from FrontPage, not from the browser.

Open FrontPage, then File->Open Web and choose or type in the website
address in the form http://example.com
