video capture on windows movie maker

Hi
i have used windows movie maker for some time , but now when i try to
capture my digital video i get a message saying (a video capture device was
not detected). the only change on my pc is another message when i log on
saying (the security information has been changed this programme will be
terminated )but everything else on my pc works fine . can anyone please help

Which programme is it referring to when it says the security message?
It may be that the firewall is blocking the firewire port, see here for more
info if you need it.

hi
tried most things suggested but my problem still exist.i do think that the
security message is causing problems , but i`m not sure what it refers to.
any more suggestions

hi again
the only yellow exclamation marks i can see are on the s m bus contoller and
the ethernet but when i try to install them it tells me software not found

Also what about the firewall? What app is the security message referring to?

i beleive that is a device driver missing on ur system bus / which u will
find on ur motherboard disk / u may try installing that missing driver /
insert motherboard disk in ur cd drive go to device manager higlight yellow
exclamation then right click mouse button and select update drivers / hope it
works for u
