NTdll.dll crash after Drive cloning

I have just cloned my hard drive with my OS on it and when i startup on the new cloned drive after the programs load, an error message comes up and says that Generic host process has encounterd an error and needs to close. the faulting module is ntdll.dll Nothing will run after that crashes. i can move mouse but thats it.
The new drive is a sata drive any ideas? Specs: Windows xp HOme Service pack 2 512 mb Ram 40gb samsung HDD 200 gb Seagate HDD (Main BOOt DIsk) 200 GB maxtor HDD (cloned boot Disk) (SATA) P4 1.8 GHZ CPU Last edited by Brendan_w : 16-10-2006 at 12:10 AM. Reason: add info |

What exactly are you trying to do ... If I read it right, you have two boot disks? one IDE one SATA, no?
One thing XP is famous for ... it don't like change ... it throws a wobbly. Normal procedure is ... Try and run sfc /scannow with the original XP CD ... if you do not have one, borrow one. If no avail, you may need to perform a repair install of XP. After the repair installation, you need to re-activate windows and update the patches again ... then run chkdisk, disk clean up and defrag. Backup your important data files first, just in case. Always do a clean install. ![]()
