This may be a silly question but ....
I've just started looking at CSS and I can't figure out why you need it when Themes seems to do a similar job. Do Theme produce bigger pages? |

Hi Linda,
The themes use CSS to produce some designs. It means you can get an OK looking site up quickly the downside is that everyone else can use the same themes so your site isn't going to look original. If you're just making a personal site this is probably OK but if you want to create a site for your job/business eventually you'd want to learn CSS and produce your own original designs. There's no harm in starting off with themes and then produce your own designs as your skill/confidence grows. -- Cheers, Jon Microsoft MVP "Linda" <Linda@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0E47D03D-3B48-42CF-BB3F-611FCA8F4F9E@microsoft.com... > This may be a silly question but .... > > I've just started looking at CSS and I can't figure out why you need it > when > Themes seems to do a similar job. A Theme is just one [BIG] style sheet. You'll want to manage the appearance
of elements outside of those included in your theme. Many style-sheet effects cannot be achieved by modifying the elements of a Theme through FP. If you could get into the Theme code you could do it, but why bother? Just write one, two or more style sheets and apply them over the Theme. Also, you may want to create an effect on only one page.
