Default Nikon LS-30 and Windows XP

I have problems to get Nikon LS-30 run under Windows XP SP-2.

Have installed the Adaptec ASPI driver and the Nikon Scan 3.1.2 from
www.nikonusa.com.

But what's strange after unzipping the Nscan 312/INF folder only
contains LS40, LS2000, LS4000 and LS 8000 - subfolders and no LS30.

Any advice?

Peter

Now I found the solution to install the scanner at all at a newsgroup:
http://www.usenews.org/group/comp.p...ssage-6733.html

But this didn't install Nikon Scan.

The scanner runs with Vuescan now but can't be seen by any other
application like PhotoPaint. W/o Nikon Scan I can't use Digital ICE.

download and look for the XP install guide

sure.

last night I found a hint on photo.net to another page of Nikon:
http://tinyurl.com/qa88l

it seems a changing of the SCSI controller is the answer. for XP they
recommend Adaptec 2906 while I still have the first I installed under
Win 98 SE.

a user on the photo.net Nikon forum could successful install Nikon Scan
after changing the card.

I would be useful if Nikon would place the support on _one_ page.

BTW Vuescan recognizes the LS-30 but seems to run with errors.

thank you,

Peter
