HP scanjet 3c

I have a HP Scanjet 3c.

I just am not able to make it work anymorein both the Win98 or WinXP
I have used the driver (sj166,exe) and it just can't work.
The software will respond with "unable to communicate with scanner".
I am using it with the advsys SCSI interface.
It use to work before on winXP.
But not after I re- setup the system and loading back all the drivers.
Is there any self test for the scanner
Or is there any other sure to work driver that I can download

You should download and install the Adaptec ASPI.

Windows XP does not have the ASPI. Windows 98SE did.
