I'm using the Fujitsu ScanSnap Organizer software and have created
several "Folder Links" (shortcuts) to other folders to drop scanned PDF's into. The links show up as .lnk files in the "My ScanSnap" folder. If I restart the computer and go back into ScanSnap Organizer, the links are gone. The .lnk files are still there, but no links in the UI. Does anyone know anything about this or how to fix it? Thanks! Steve Mark www.OnTheMarkSystems.com |

Hi Steve,
I'd be happy to help you out if you'd like. I've recently moved over to the Product Management team at Fujitsu.. but, I have several years of experience within the Technical Support Dept.. Just to get an idea of your imaging environment: 1. Which Model ScanSnap do you own? (fi-4110EOX, fi-5110EOX2, S500, etc..) 2. What OS are you running? 3. which version ScanSnap Manager do you have? 4. Which version Organizer are you running? 5. are the broken links pointing to various locations on your local HDD? or to remote shares on the network? 5b. are you able to navigate and save files to those locations through Windows Explorer? Give me a call anytime you're available: Thank you, Danny Ha Product Mananger- Workgroup Scanners Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. dha@us.fujtisu.com 408-746-7096 direct 408-203-6057 cell Steve Mark wrote: > I'm using the Fujitsu ScanSnap Organizer software and have created > several "Folder Links" (shortcuts) to other folders to drop scanned > PDF's into. Risky thing to post on a newsgroup -- you're likely to get other questions (like this one) coming back at you! I attempted to scan an A4 document (which is of course slightly narrower and slightly longer than a US letter sized page) into a US letter size PDF page by pre-setting the paper size to the Letter Size option, realizing that I would lose the bottom 1/2 inch or so of the A4 document (which was blank anyway). * When I do this, the ScanSnap software brings up an error dialog box saying "Wrong paper size -- must rescan," with apparently no scan data stored; and I haven't found a way to get around this. Why canąt the ScanSnap capture whatever it can capture from the inserted and scanned document (in fact, I assume it must actually do so; the detected pixels must actually be within the unit's memory at the end of the scan); and then just give me just a *warning*, with an option to accept either a truncated input or a demagnified input? The software does seem to be able scan *smaller* documents, like file cards or smaller notepad pages, and put these into letter sized output PDFs on my HD. (And by the way, the ScanSnap unit itself should really have some kind of indentation or handle in the back to serve as a grip, so that the unit can be picked up, from above, _with one hand_.) Hello AES,
I'm checking my email before bed and thought I'd check my home email when I noticed your post. Sorry about the late response. A4 documents shouldn't be a problem for the ScanSnap Mac (fi-5110EOXM). It's common for the ScanSnap Manager to have letter as the default document size settings ~ or legal size depending on you're specific scanning needs. The most likely cause of your symptoms is the scanner's Double-Feed detection fail-safe. All Fujitsu ADF scanners have at least one system of components verifying that your documents feed through one at a time. The ScanSnap Mac uses a mechanical flag sensor located in the center of the ADF door between the 4 amber feed rollers- (not to mistaken with your pic roller which feels like a sponge material). The sensor is used to check the length of each document fed through the scanner and compares the length with the following document. If a variance of 10mm - 20mm is detected, AND you have your doublefeed detection enabled, then the scanner will stop automatically. Try turning off your double feed detection within the ScanSnap manager and scan again. If that works, then the thing to remember is that your double-feed detection is triggering anytime you have a mixed size batch. (only measurement the scanner uses to detect size is based on the docuement length- i.e. steps from leading edge to trailing edge) Give me a call direct if you have any questions... My number at work is 408-746-7096 / cell 408-203-6057. my email address is dha@us.fujitsu.com If I'm in the middle of a big project, I may need to call you back in the evening or over the weekend if you don't mind~ Thank you, Danny AES wrote: > In article <1149830753.051326.133540@c74g2000cwc.googlegroups.com>, > "Danny" <danny-ha@sbcglobal.net> wrote: > > > I'd be happy to help you out if you'd like. Hi AES,
I re-read your post and have another explanation / theory of what you're running into. The ScanSnap series detects page size by measuring length and then applying that measurement to a "lookup table" which has ISO standard page sizes. The A4 size docuement is longer than letter which would return the error described if it's set to letter in the manager (the auto detect will detect page sizes up to the length specified ) try setting the manager to legal and scan again. thank you, Danny call me at 408-746-7096 if you have any questions...
