i can't use microsoft game voice or roger wilco because
there is an error when tring to run the directplay sound hardware test in the directx diagnostics under network tab. i get an error message with a code of 0x80004005. there is a microsoft knowledge base article-810686 about this problem but when i try to change the values in the regisrty as per the article and reboot they go back to the same as they were before?. the values i set will not take or hold?. need somones help here!thanks in advance. |

This most likely a DirectPlay driver issue Albert. Visit your OEM's web
site and download the latest drivers. You might also need to upgrade your DirectX files as well (www.microsoft.com/directx). The only other question that comes to mind is to verify that your sound card is capable of full duplex audio. I know the MS Game Voice only works with such and I suspect Roger Wilco has similar requirements.
