Configure the connection manually - don't let Outlook try to do it.

I have loaded the Beta of Office 2007 and I am not able to send email using
Outlook. I receive the following message. Task.’mail.bellsouth.net – sending’ reported error (0x800ccc80) : ‘None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server.’ I understand that this is a Beta, but would you please help me? Thank you, Howard "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: > any error messages? > > -- > Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] > Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours > Coauthor, OneNote 2003 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide) > Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ > Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ > > Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ > Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com > Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: > EMO-NEWSLETTER-SUBSCRIBE-REQUEST@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM > > > "Walter (Computers-Unlimited)" <Walter > (Computers-Unlimited)@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:13757EB3-A2F2-4A25-BACC-29973ED01D86@microsoft.com... > >I run exchange 2003 and outlook from office 2003. Go into More Settings (in tools, accounts... select the account and open it)
and select different authentication settings and apply, then reselect them and apply. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Coauthor, OneNote 2003 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide) Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: EMO-NEWSLETTER-SUBSCRIBE-REQUEST@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM "Firstsgt" <Firstsgt@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C0E85286-B822-4305-9C71-4B4D688769EA@microsoft.com... >I have loaded the Beta of Office 2007 and I am not able to send email using > Outlook. Thanks for the help. I found that you go into tools, accounts, but select
repair. Outlook then attempts an encripted connection with the server. If that fails, you can opt for an unencripted connection. Worked great.
