Default copy a function to a whole column

I am entering a figure in column A, i want column B to automatically work out
the vat element of the figure in column A. Then i want column c to add the 2
figures together and display the answer. No problem i can write the formulae
but i want it to apply to every row on the worksheet (and there could be
thousands) and do not want to write it for every one. Ive tried to copy and
paste but it doesnt seem to work, please please please can any one shed some
light on this for me .... thanks

Default Re: copy a function to a whole column

Several methods to copy a formula down a column.

If there is continuous data in Column A, write the formulas in B1 and C1 then
select both B1 and C1.

Hover the cursor over the lower right corner of C1 until you see a small black
cross.

Double-click on that cross and the formulas in B1 and C1 will be copied to end
of data.

You could select B1 and C1 and left-click on the black cross and drag down as
far as you wish.

You can select B1 and C1 and in the name box enter B1:C345 or somesuch address
in C.

Hit ENTER then CTRL + D

Note: Tools>Options>Edit>Allow drag and drop must be enabled.
