Default How to return counter value from MS Access

Hi
I'm using VS 2005 and TableAdapters to manipulate data in an Access 2003
database.
For id-values i use a counter field in Access. How can the value of the
id-field of the newly created row be returned?

Thanks in advance!
/Henke
