I've been using MS FrontPage 2000 for quite some time. Now I'm trying to
open it, and I get a message that the application encountered a problem and has to close. I already turned my computer on and off 2 times, and uninstalled and re-installed the program several times with no success. I also downlodes MS active X, which didn't help either. What can I do? |

Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner ( with
Expression Web Designer and SharePoint Designer support ) Download links are at the bottom of the page. Run the functions that clear: The Hidden Temporary files. The Hidden Cache (*.web) files. and the function: Restore Default Toolbars and Menus See if it helps. -- Steve Easton Microsoft MVP FrontPage 95isalive This site is best viewed............ ........................with a computer "monising" <monising@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7E12FF0B-322C-42D2-B860-314111096815@microsoft.com... > I've been using MS FrontPage 2000 for quite some time. Can you remember what was the last thing you did with that application?

I think I began to build a new website, but didn't yet publish it.

1) What was the exact error?
2) What did you find in the event logs? -- Tom Willett Microsoft MVP - FrontPage FrontPage Support: http://www.frontpagemvps.com/ ---------- "monising" <monising@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7E12FF0B-322C-42D2-B860-314111096815@microsoft.com... > I've been using MS FrontPage 2000 for quite some time. \Every time I try to open it, I almost immediately get an error message. I
cannot copy and paste it, so here is part of it: Error signature App Name: frotpg.exe AppVer: 4.0.2.3821 ModName: unknown ModVer 0.0.0.0. offset: 0f000040 Exception information code: Ox0000005 Flages 0x00000000 Record 0x000000 Address 0x000000000f000040 System Information Windows NT 5.1 Build: 2600 (I have windows XP, maybe that's the problem) There's a LOT more, but I'm unable to copy and past it. A few seconds after I open it, I get an error report. What are the event logs? The application file reads" AppName: frontpg.exe AppVer: 4.0.2.3821 ModName: unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0f000040 Technical Information: Code: 0xc0000005 Flags: 0x00000000f000040 System Information shows Windows NT 5.1. I have Windows XP. Maybe that's the problem? Then they show details for 40 modules, several threads, memory range, and entire contents. As I'm not able to copy and paste, I can't send you all these deails. Thanks for your help!! Find and delete the cmdui.prf file for FrontPage - this is the file that
stores your customizations and preferences for the FrontPage Menu and it will get rebuilt, using the defaults, the next time you start FrontPage. -- ~ Kathleen Anderson Microsoft MVP - FrontPage Spider Web Woman Designs web: http://www.spiderwebwoman.com/resources/ FrontPage Support: http://www.frontpagemvps.com/ "monising" <monising@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7E12FF0B-322C-42D2-B860-314111096815@microsoft.com... > I've been using MS FrontPage 2000 for quite some time.
