Question: If I buy a hard drive based camcorder (JVC GZMG50) - which records
in MPEG-2 format, can I use movie maker 2 to edit these files as I did with my old Mini DV camcorder ? And what is the real deal with the lossy compression ? WIll Movie Maker degrade my cideo footage ?? Thanks for any input. Henning |

Movie Maker doesn't work with MPEG-2 files, at least on most systems, and
the conversion to get the files to ones that MM2 supports will degrade your footage.... the amount will depend on what software you use. See my Import Movie Source Files > Video > MPEG-2 page. -- PapaJohn Movie Maker 2 and Photo Story 3 website - http://www.papajohn.org "HenningThiel" <HenningThiel@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:EC1D23C7-7027-4CD0-8116-E056F1D80E5A@microsoft.com... > Question: If I buy a hard drive based camcorder (JVC GZMG50) - which > records > in MPEG-2 format, can I use movie maker 2 to edit these files as I did > with > my old Mini DV camcorder ?
