Default Windows XP SP2. Do I have to activate?

I have just installed Windows XP SP2 on a laptop in one install on
toformated disk. During installation I had the oportunity to activate.
I chose not to. Now that it is installed will I have to activate to
keep it working and being able to log on or will it lock me out after
a week or two. Please email me if there is a good way round this?

You will have the usual 30 days in which to activate. if you don't activate
you get locked out until you do activate.

Activation is required in 30 days from the first day that you start
Windows XP.

Kindly go through the following KB Article:-
