Whoops! I inititated an upgrade from W2K to XP by double clicking on
winnt32. I was asked for the product key. I'm planning on upgrading several more computers when I've done one comfortable and so I didn't want to have to plug that number in all the time. And I didn't want to create an unattended txt file. So I found a web page that expained how to modify the setupp.ini file so I wouldn't have to enter the id all the time. It didn't work so I used the example on the web page for the OEM install (as opposed to the volume license install). That didn't work either. So I replaced my back up setupp.ini file and tried again. This time, it asked for a code and also kept the orange symbol saying it expected a code from a cd case. So, stupidly, I entered our volume license key and started the install. Now I'm stuck at the point where the computer auto logs in and says I have the wrong product key (after it reboots after installing network drivers). So, I can boot it up with a BartPE cd. But then what should I do (assuming I can get it out of the install loop or to a place where I can change the product key). Shamefully asking for any and all help, Jeremy |

Well, I figured out how to fix my problem with BartPE. So if any one else
ever has the same problem they can let me know and I'll tell them what I did.
