Hi everybody,
for the following problem I need your help. original setup: only one user account mit admin rights Guest account deaktivated, no special admin account such that pc starts w/o showing account selection screen. After restart of the pc the account selection screen is displayed w/o showing any account an no possibility to start windows. After starting XP in protected mode in the account setup only accounts for admin and guest are displayed. However, the user account still exists, proof: when trying to establish a new account with orignal user name message appears saying that account already exists. Checking the account folders shows that "all users", "default", and user account are still available. in addition now a new account folder "Administrator" exists. Has anybody experienced something similar (and found a remedy)? I would be grateful for any good hint. Regards Jochen |

I have never had this happen to me before,
but when you are at the welcome screen press CTRL ALT DELETE twice as if you were opening task manager, you will get a log in screen, try logging into the account that way.
